I've never been a big fan of Halloween, and I know a good deal of that has to do with my childhood. My parents were one of those parents who didn't let us celebrate. Good Friday was always a solemn affair. After all, it is one of the saddest days in the church year. We ate a very light breakfast, normally toast or oatmeal, and did chores around the house. My childhood wasn't what most people would consider normal. I knew almost all the families that lived on our block, and the block was actually 2 city blocks together with all the houses built around a huge field.
